Nonlinear convection–diffusion equations with nonlocal flux and possibly degenerate diffusion arise in various contexts including interacting gases, porous media flows, and collective behavior in biology. Their numerical solution by an explicit finite difference method is costly due to the necessity of discretizing a local spatial convolution for each evaluation of the convective numerical flux, and due to the disadvantageous Courant–Friedrichs–Lewy (CFL) condition incurred by the diffusion term. Based on explicit schemes for such models devised in the study of Carrillo et al. a second‐order implicit–explicit Runge–Kutta (IMEX‐RK) method can be formulated. This method avoids the restrictive time step limitation of explicit schemes since the diffusion term is handled implicitly, but entails the necessity to solve nonlinear algebraic systems in every time step. It is proven that this method is well defined. Numerical experiments illustrate that for fine discretizations it is more efficient in terms of reduction of error versus central processing unit time than the original explicit method. One of the test cases is given by a strongly degenerate parabolic, nonlocal equation modeling aggregation in study of Betancourt et al. This model can be transformed to a local partial differential equation that can be solved numerically easily to generate a reference solution for the IMEX‐RK method, but is limited to one space dimension.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The present work describes a phenomenological approach to explain the instantaneous behaviour of tungsten heavy alloys (WHAs) in heat-treated and swaged conditions. The strengths and elongation values of heat-treated materials are lower and higher than those of the swaged samples respectively. The heat-treated materials exhibit two slopes in true stress–true plastic strain curves and follow the Ludwigson constitutive equation. On the other hand, swaged materials display a single slope and adhere to typical Swift constitutive equation. The latter reflect the presence of pre-strain in the materials due to swaging deformation. The fracture surfaces in heat-treated materials consist of W-W decohesion along with matrix rupture and W-cleavage, while swaged samples consist of mainly W-cleavage. Both the materials display three typical stages (I, II and III) of work hardening. The second derivatives of true stress–true plastic strain curves of these alloys exhibit a perfect parabola although the nature of true stress–true strain as well as true stress–true plastic strain curves is quite different in heat-treated and swaged materials. This has been observed for the first time in WHAs consisting of matrix and W-grains. The shape of the parabola is simple and easy to fit. The fitting parameters of parabolas have been successfully employed to explain the flow behaviour of a large number of tungsten heavy alloys having two-phase microstructure in different processing conditions.  相似文献

选择绕圆柱预混燃烧算例,验证CH4/空气三种简化动力学机理(16s41r、15s19r和53s325r).考虑均匀来流,忽略湍流和湍流与燃烧相互作用以及燃料扩散效应,假设层流有限反应速率,采用保自由流5阶WENO格式求解多组分Euler方程组,得到CH4/空气预混燃烧流场温度等值线、沿驻点线压力和温度及其CH4、CO和CO2质量百分数分布.结果表明:三种简化动力学机理给出的流场均出现弓形激波和火焰面,弓形激波和火焰驻点距离及其形状、诱导区宽度和简化动力学机理相关.当圆柱直径增大,弓形激波和火焰向圆柱上游移动,对应的驻点距离均增大,诱导区宽度变短,点火延时变小,但火焰和弓形激波位置次序未变化.53s325r模型要比16s41r模型和15s19r模型精度要高,点火延时覆盖的压力和温度范围也较宽,所有简化机理均未完全反应,在较大圆柱直径下游达到化学平衡.  相似文献

采用SST k-w低雷诺数湍流模型对加热条件下超临界压力CO2在内径di=22.14 mm,加热长度Lh=2440 mm水平圆管内三维稳态流动与传热特性进行了数值计算.通过超临界CO2在水平圆管内的流动传热实验数据验证了数值模型的可靠性和准确性.首先,研究了超临界压力CO2在水平圆管内的流动传热特点,基于超临界CO2在类临界温度Tpc处发生类液-类气“相变”的假设,揭示了水平圆管顶母线和底母线区域不同的流动传热行为.然后,分析了热流密度qw和质量流速G对水平圆管内超临界压力CO2流动换热的影响,通过获取流体域内的物性分布、速度分布和湍流分布等详细信息,重点解释了不同热流密度qw和质量流速G下顶母线内壁温度Tw,i分布产生差异的传热机理,分析结果确定了类气膜厚度d、类气膜性质、轴向速度u和湍动能k是影响顶母线壁温分布差异的主要因素.研究结果可以为超临界压力CO2换热装置的优化设计和安全运行提供理论指导.  相似文献

Investigating microfluidic flow profiles is of interest in the microfluidics field for the determination of various characteristics of a lab-on-a-chip system. Microparticle tracking velocimetry uses computational methods upon recording video footage of microfluidic flow to ultimately visualize motion within a microfluidic system across all frames of a video. Current methods are computationally expensive or require extensive instrumentation. A computational method suited to microparticle tracking applications is the robust Kanade–Lucas–Tomasi (KLT) feature-tracking algorithm. This work explores a microparticle tracking velocimetry program using the KLT feature-tracking algorithm. The developed program is demonstrated using pressure-driven and EOF and compared with the respective mathematical fluid flow models. An electrostatics analysis of EOF conditions is performed in the development of the mathematical using a Poisson's Equation solver. This analysis is used to quantify the zeta potential of the electroosmotic system. Overall, the KLT feature-tracking algorithm presented in this work proved to be highly reliable and computationally efficient for investigations of pressure-driven and EOF in a microfluidic system.  相似文献

A new, continuous-flow consecutive reduction method was developed for the C-N bond formation in the synthesis of the key intermediate of the antipsychotic drug cariprazine. The two-step procedure consists of a DIBAL-H mediated selective ester reduction conducted in a novel, miniature alternating diameter reactor, followed by reductive amination using catalytic hydrogenation on 5% Pt/C. The connection of the optimized modules was accomplished using an at-line extraction to prevent precipitation of the aluminum salt byproducts.  相似文献
